Very Powerful laptop in a very small form factor
You're not going to find any other laptop at this form factor, with this amount of performance at such a reasonable price. IPS display is nice and colors are well balanced. The GTX 1060 inside is a powerhouse of a GPU and is the sweet spot for this laptop of this size. Perfect for the 1080p display. Can do photo editing on Adobe Lightroom without having to worry about inaccurate colors. Thermals are ok, given how thin the machine is and with proper tuning, it can be whisper quiet during daily tasks, and acceptable noise during gaming (its not THAT loud really). During gaming, Temperatures never broke over 85c on both GPU and CPU however with under-volting, temperatures can be even lower without any performance hit. Just keep in mind to uninstall any bloatware as there is several. All of my ... Battery life is around 3-4 hours on normal daily use, but lower during any type of heavy loads like gaming etc. SSD inside is decent speed, loads up programs instantly so that's a plus. Better than any mechanical harddrive Built in Wi-Fi is fast, dual band so it works with 5ghz signals Speakers are ok, a given to how thin this laptop is. It is fine for basic media consumption. However the built in DAC is great, paired with a good pair of headphones and sound is noticeably better compared to a basic headphone jack (depends what kind of headphones and how sensitive your ears are). Overall, this laptop is great for mobile gaming and productivity. Looking for a thin and light laptop with great performance? This laptop is for you.

MSI Stealth Pro GS63VR 6RF
The MSI Stealth Pro GS63VR is a great successor to the Ghost Pro GS60. The design and build quality have both improved and the hardware inside is also a nice bundle to have in such a small package. It’s good to see MSI trim off some of the footprint and bezels, without skimping on thermals and performance. The balance of power and portability is really the most outstanding feature in this model. During my use, I never frowned upon it’s handling or usability as a productivity machine. Even for gaming, it’s a very capable model. You’re going to be hard pressed to find a laptop as thin and light as the GS63VR that holds a GTX 1060. The closest competitors are the Gigabyte Aero 15, Asus ROG GL502, the Acer Predator Helios 300 and the Acer Aspire V15 Nitro series, but even those models ... Great laptop even in 2019
This laptop makes a perfect gaming setup, what speaks volumes about it is that I replaced my gaming PC with this very same system. Word of warning, the Best Buy versions screen is lackluster so purchase the right model number. The metal finish makes it feel just as premium as my cousins macbook, and just as light, I use this for school and work and gaming so weight is important for me. Drives - The NVME drive is super fast at over 5300mbs transfer on 4k testing, and amazingly the 5200rpm 2tb hdd keeps up with everything else (feels like a Barracuda and loads my steam library immediately) Memory - The onboard 16gb 2600mhz ram is more than enough for Chrome(10 tabs), Elex, PDF, Spotify, windows market and photoshop AfterEffects to be open all at once. Ports - Has a several USB-3.1 ports, and one very capable Thunderbolt 3 which I have several devices daisy chained into (which I plan to connect a EGPU to after the next Gen of graphics cards come out). Also have my bluetooth buds hooked up, which I can walk across my house with and still get a good experience out of. Processing Power - I7700HQ does everything I want it too, rarily ever hits 50% usage and stays boosted well above 2.8 base the entire time I use it unless in low power mode. The 1060 here is a mobile part, but scores about 91% of a desktop variant when testing, which kicks @#$ for me. On the keyboard, I really enjoy the travel on this laptop except the space bar, it has a tenancy to not register when tapped with the left thumb, and the 3 back light key areas are kinda fun (I have mine setup in breathing mod). The trackpad does have a hack to make it more like the windows trackpad experience, but honestly works just fine for everything I ask of it. -------The bad------ The battery will last you at MAX 3 hours ( battery saving mod with light usage), however the laptop being so light means carrying the power brick isn't that inconvenient. The speakers suck, plane and simple, and shouldn't be used with anything more than 50% volume.

A Great Laptop For Most People
This laptop is very well put together and easy to disassemble. I upgraded the 1tb HD to a 2tb ssd for my upcoming photography and videography classes. (along with some games, of course) The battery on it could be better, but when you're not playing games, and you set the power plan correctly, you can get a good chunk of hours. I love the inclusion of an sd card on a laptop this thin and this light as it makes sense. Unless you're planning on being on campus without a charger for 4+ hours, then this laptop might not work very well for you. The included charging adapter charges up the laptop pretty quickly, although I have never fully tested it. I got it from 50% to 100% in about an hour, but of course, this will vary.
